Default SOM consistently colder than DOM

Hi there,

I have been using the slab ocean model and have noted that it tends to produce colder SSTs than are found in the SST climatology. Has anyone else found this? Is there any paper or publication exploring the physics of the cold bias in the SOM as I have not found any to date.

Thanks Gina.
