CESM code for Cheyenne HPC

Dear CESM Software Working Group,

The latest public release of CESM was dated June 2014, and won't support the Cheyenne HPC.

So I'm wondering what is the plan for the CESM users on the new Cheyenne HPC. Thanks!

We are currently working on a port of cesm1_2_2 and will soon have a cesm2 release both of which can be used on Cheyenne.

Stay tuned for an announcement with details coming soon.

Hi,

I appreciate it if you announce here, when the porting of CESM on Cheyenne was accomplished.

Hi

I would like to know whether the porting will complete before the CESM workshop.

Thanks, jedwards.

The google doc link is not working.

And no password was given for the following command?

> svn co --username guestuser --password [password]
https://svn-ccsm-models.cgd.ucar.edu/cesm1/release_tags/cesm1_2_2 cesm1_2_2

Hi, I've read the post of CESM 1_2_2_1 FOR CHEYENNE.

The google doc in the post mentioned "Versions more recent than cesm1_4".

-- Is there a cesm1_4? or is it should be cesm1_1_4?

The google doc mentioned PE-layout. I know Yellowstone has options like #BSUB -R "span[ptile=15]" and it's better to set ntasks in multiples of 15s instead of 16s.

-- Since Cheyenne has 36 cores per node, should ntasks be multiples of 36s or 35s for Cheyenne's case?

Last question: model build failed with qsub model.build, while the same code worked with Cheyenne login node server but it built very slowly.

I guess one solution could be using an interactive qsub session?

Thank you.
