Converting isotope data into delta notation

I downloaded precipitation and runoff isotope data from the LME datasets. The precipitation isotopes are in kg/kg and I believe to convert them to delta notation, I do d18O=(H218OL/H216OL -1 ) * 1000. Is this correct? Does this give me delta relative to VSMOW or another standard?

Similarly, I have runoff isotopes (QOVER_H2OTR, QOVER_H218O, and QOVER_HDO) with units of mm/s. How do I convert these to delta notation?
