model execution error: running FWmadSD for 2014

Hi,
I am running WACCM-D for one day, setting RUN_REFDATE=2014-01-01 and RUN_STARTDATE=2014-09-29.
At the end I have the outputs in the archive folder, but when I checked CaseStatus it shows 2 errors as below:
model execution error
ERROR: Command: 'mpiexec -n 30 /home/user/cesm/cases/f.e21.FWmadSD.f09_f09_mg17.10.0MEE/bld/cesm.exe >> cesm.log.$LID 2>&1 ' failed with error '' from dir '/home/user/cesm/cases/f.e21.FWmadSD.f09_f09_mg17.10.0MEE/run'
case.run error
ERROR: RUN FAIL: Command 'mpiexec -n 30 /home/user/cesm/cases/f.e21.FWmadSD.f09_f09_mg17.10.0MEE/bld/cesm.exe >> cesm.log.$LID 2>&1 ' failed
See log file for details: /home/user/cesm/cases/f.e21.FWmadSD.f09_f09_mg17.10.0MEE/run/cesm.log.221103-035825

and this is what I get in the log files:
ERROR: Unknown error submitted to shr_abort_abort
FIND_TIMES: Failed to find dates bracketing desired time = 734927.00000000000

However as I said I have the hist archive files. My question is that are the outputs valid? Does anyone have any idea how I can solve this issue?
Thanks

First, I would not recommend starting a run on September 29 with an initial condition from January 1. There is significant seasonal variability in the constituents, but perhaps that does not matter for your purposes.

The error you are seeing, though, is consistent with not having updated the met_data_file in your namelist to be consistent with your new RUN_STARTDATE. Check the value of met_data_file in CaseDocs/atm_in, and change it by putting a line in your user_nl_cam, i.e.:

met_data_file = '2014/MERRA2_0.9x1.25_20140929.nc'

Thanks for your response.
About your first point: you're right. How about starting from few days before my desired date?
Actually I have that line in my user_nl_cam. But still getting the error!
And then how should I run for more than a day? I know I can use ./xmlchange stop_option=ndays,stop_n=2, but how should I address that in user_nl_cam? Since when I have multiple met_data_file lines, it only considers the last one.
Thanks

The met_data_file simply lists the file that will be used for the first day of the run. From there, file names are incremented according to the list provided in the text file that is pointed to by the met_filenames_list namelist variable.

Okay I understand it.
But is there any other way instead of running from Jan 1 all up to Sep? or I always have to start from the restart files?

Unfortunately, we don't have monthly restarts available for this configuration. If you are able to run from January 1 to September, that would be best. Is this a cost concern for you?

Okay. I should be able to run that at NCAR and get you restart files. Are there any other dates you would like restarts for besides 2014-09-29?

Thank you very much.

I have created restarts for the 5 dates you requested by running one case for 2013, and another for 2014. You can download the restarts by FTP here:

ftp://nitrogen.acom.ucar.edu/user/mmills/inputdata/cesm2_init/f.e21.FWmadSD.f09_f09_mg17.release-cesm2.1.3.2013monthly.001/

Hello, I run the FCHIST and the default initial file is "f.e20.FCHIST.f09_f09_mg17.cesm2_0_rel.emis_fix.001.cam.i.1996-01-01-00000_c180716.nc". The file's date is 199601 but the default RUN_STARTDATE is 1995-01-01, should I change the RUN_STARTDATE=1995-01-01 into 1996-01-01? Thanks in advance!
Best,

Hello Sir, I want to run FWmadHIST or FWmadSD in CESM2.1.3 or CESM 2.2.0 with res. f09_f09_mg17 for 15 days starting from 14 March 2015 mainly to get wind velocities, temperature, density up to the height of 140 km with output files for every half an hour. I think the ref date needs to be 13 March and the start date be 14 March. I need input files for the run. Is it possible to get those files from anybody here as the default starting date is 2005. Thank you in advance if anybody comes forward to provide the input data files. Thank you. T. K. Ramkumar

My another one query is that CESM2.2.0 is not fully ready to run WACCMX models that is FXSD or FXHIST to get the ionosphere parameters as the model stops running after showing error for not able to communicate between geographic and geomagnetic tilted dipole coordinates even though ESMF is separately installed and linked. Anybody can enlighten me in this regard. I think that we have to wait for the release of CESM2.3 to address this issue. Thank you. Sincerely, TK Ramkumar
