Hello,

I want to start a CAM3 run using initial files from a CCSM3 run. Is this
documented anywhere?

Thanks.

When CAM is running in CCSM it only writes the fields to the initial file that are required for an initial run of CCSM. These initial files are thus missing fields required for an initial run of CAM in standalone mode. I'd guess that the easiest way to start a CAM run from CCSM generated initial files would be to use the NCO operators to add the required fields to the CAM initial files from the initial files of the appropriate CCSM components.
