FIDEAL

Hi All:

I was playing with a very simple CESM configuration (-compset FIDEAL -res ne30_g16). It is a very fast run, and ideal for some simple test. However, the only information that I can find online is that it uses "ideal physics". I was told that there should be some details regarding, say, damping in the boundary layer, radiative heating/cooling at the top of the atmosphere, etc. I was wondering if there is any document to describe FIDEAL or "ideal physics" better. Can anyone point me to a document or someone who knows FIDEAL well?

Thanks.

This is the reference used to build the ideal physics in CAM:
