whether temperature is included in the atmospheric restart files?

Dear all,

I understand that in the output history files, the variable "T" represents temperature. However, I have been unable to locate this variable in the atmospheric restart files (*.cam.r.*). Could someone please clarify whether the temperature variable is included in the atmospheric restart files? If so, what is its variable name?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Best regards,

Joey

Hi, Joey

I know "T_TTEND" seems the temperature from the restart time. You can check it. But I am not sure if there are any other related variables. I hope this could be helpful for u.

Hi Joey,

The variable "T" should be present on the cam.r.TIMESTAMP.nc restart files. Are you sure you're not looking at the cam.rs.TIMESTAMP file, which is the surface restart file?

If you are indeed still not finding the T variable on the restart (*.r.*) file, can you provide:
1. The version of CAM or CESM you are using.
2. The configuration (compset, resolution) you are running with.

So I can try to reproduce your error?
Thanks!
Courtney
