CESM 2.1.3 POP initialization hangs during hybrid run

I’m running CESM 2.1.3 with configuration --res f09_g17 --compset B1850.
I didn’t modify the source code, only the usual XML settings listed below.
During initialization, the model stops when the POP component starts to initialize — it just hangs with no further progress.

Hi zhangguangzhi,

I looked through your log files, but was unable to see anything obvious. One thing that might help would be to turn on the debug flags by changing the "DEBUG" XML variable to "TRUE", which may raise an actual error that can be traced (although please note that it will require the case to be re-built).

Alternatively, are you able to perform a simulation with the default run type and reference case as provided by a standard compset? The only major change I see is the use of a new Mid-Holocene reference case, so if a regular case runs with all of your other changes then there is likely something wrong with the reference case files you are using.
