10-m Surface Wind Speeds

The wind speeds ubot and vbot are the bottom mid-layer wind velocity components at about 992 mb ~ 55m AGL. However, I need to output global 10-m wind speed magnitudes. In the SOM and CSIM modules, the 10-m winds are calculated based on the neutral stability assumption. I was able to retrieve these speeds (hopefully). However, within the BareGroundFluxes and CanopyFluxes modules, I do not see any 10-m winds being diagnosed. I do see some code within the FrictionVelocity module which is called only when the DGVM is enabled (based on C. Zender's dust module). Does anyone have any suggestions?
