6 Hourly history file

Hi,
I need to generate 6 hourly history files. I am getting 6 hourly initial history files but I need 6 hourly model output files also. 'nhtfrq' I think can change it to monthly average or number of timesteps or number of hours. so does no. of hours means that if I set nhtfrq = -6 then I will get 6 hourly history file.
Can anybody please help me.
