A problem about E component set in CESM 1.2.2

Hello everyone,
I'm trying to run CESM 1.2.2 with slab ocean model, which belongs to the E component set. The default settings of present-day E compset is ETEST, in which it is reminded that this case cannot be used in a long-term simulation. I'm wondering that why is there such an issue, and is it because of the forcing for the slab ocean model is not the present-day climatology? If so, should I run a present-day B case, in which the ocean model POP2 is coubled into the model, and use these output data to make my own forcing file for the slab ocean model? Thanks~

Start here. You need to create your own slab ocean model forcing.
