A question about the hybrid level of precribed aerosols in CAM4

Hi all~
When I looked into the input file of prescribed aerosols used by CAM4, there's climatological surface pressure as well as the parameters a and b to provide the vertical hybrid level. I'm wondering what would happen when the surface pressure from the input file isn't equal to the simulated surface pressure? Would CAM4 read in the prescribed aerosols directly into the vertical grids and ignore the presssure in the input file or it would interpolate the aerosols from the pressure levels in the input file to the simulated pressure levels? Thanks~

moving this thread to the CAM-Chem forum in the hopes that they have an answer for you!

The input data will get vertically interpolated to the model pressure levels

Thanks~ A further question is that what would happen if the model bottom pressure level is below to the input bottom level? How does CAM4 deal with the extrapolation issue?
