a question on CCSM3 (T85,gx1v3) runs

I'm a user of IPCC model output loaded on PCMDI.

I try to compare the climate change under SRES-A2 with the current climate represented in 20C3M.

I found in the 'comment' part of head file of 20C3M, it is said " This simulation was initiated from year 360 of CCSM3 model run b30.020 ";
while in the SRES-A2, it is said " This simulation was initiated from year 2000 of CCSM3 model run b30.030a ".

I can't find the explanation form the web http://www.ccsm.ucar.edu/experiments/ccsm3.0/ .

Could the run in SRES-A2 be regarded as the extension of its corresponding 20C3M run?

Thanks in advance.

That is exactly correct. The relationship is as follows:

CCSM3 PIcntrl (b30.020) -> 20C3M (b30.030a) -> SRESA2 (b30.042a)
