About the setting of output using avgflag_pertape = 'L'

Hi,
When I am learning in the output of CAMchem, I found the setting of avgflag_pertape = 'L'.
Does it output the data according the local time zone?
And does it mean that the output of avgflag_pertape = 'L' just includes the time average during the local time zone?
Such as

Is the output data only in 0- ~30E, -90-90N? Not the global data from 0:00-2:00am?
Thank you so much!
Looking forward to your reply!

Hi Sherry,

Yes the output data for "L" is Local time. You can search for the namelist variable 'avgflag_pertape' at this site to get a little more information: https://www.cesm.ucar.edu/models/cesm2/settings/current/cam_nml.html

Can you provide more information about your settings for mfilt and nhtfrq, and the number of files that are saving out of your model runs?

I have not used the 'L' option before, but I would assume for each nhtfrq (the write frequency) there will be only one longitude band in the model that adheres to the specified local time.

Best,
Rebecca
