AMIP input tapes not available, anything through 2010?

Hi!

Short question:
I'd like to run an AMIP style simulation through the 2010 (where I will turn on MAM or BAM aerosols). Is there an easy way to set up this version of the model (e.g. which version of CAM will have a good version of an AMIP compset)? Is there an AMIP version which runs through 2010? Or are we not doing AMIP anymore?

Long version of question:

I am trying to run an AMIP style simulation with CAM4.9 (just because I have been using it for other runs).

The only AMIP compset available is: F_AMIP_1DEG_CMIP5, so I used that.

But when I ./configure -case, it says the files aren't available (after i type in my svn password):

File is missing: /glade/p/cesm/cseg/inputdata/atm/cam/chem/trop_mozart_aero/aero/aerosoldep_monthly_1849-2006_1.9x2.5_c0908030.nc

File is missing: /glade/p/cesm/cseg/inputdata/ocn/docn7/SSTDATA/sst_HadOIBl_bc_0.9x1.25_1949_2001_c091204.nc

The first file I can find manually at https:
https://svn-ccsm-inputdata.cgd.ucar.edu (there is a small difference in the name, delete an extra 0 and it seems ok).

But the second file, the SST file I cannot find.

There is a similar looking file:
hadley.sst.1870-2003.1x1.050730.nc available at:
https://svn-ccsm-inputdata.cgd.ucar.edu/trunk/inputdata/ocn/docn7/SSTDATA/

Is this going to work? But it only goes through 2003: is there another file I can use? Because I am having basic problems with this compset it implies it is not used, so maybe I should switch to another compset or model version. Which version of the model would work?

is there a place to look this stuff up, so I don't have to bother you?

Thanks
Natalie

You can run to the end of 2010 in recent versions of the model. This is true only for CAM5. We don't have all the needed datasets for CAM4 to extent after 2005. When you run CAM5 to the end of 2010: Technically, it is not a true AMIP compset as because between 2005 and 2010 it uses a combination of observed sources (SST, sea ice, CO2, CH4, N2O) and IPCC RCP4.5 scenario data (ozone, ...).  The reason is that we don't have datasets from observations for everything to teh end of 2010. But we have observations for SSTs and main greenhouse gases. The compset to use is: F_1850-PDAY_CAM5It will gives you a warming when you create a case with this compset.-----------------------------WARNING ------------------------------------------------
The compset F_1850-PDAY_CAM5 uses complete atmospheric forcing data from observed sources
up to the year 2005. Following this period it is a combination of observed sources
(SST, sea ice, CO2, CH4, N2O) to present day and IPCC RCP4.5 scenario data.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ For the SST missing file, you could use:
/glade/p/cesmdata/cseg/inputdata/atm/cam/sst/sst_HadOIBl_bc_1.9x2.5_1850_2012_c130411.ncIt should be the same as the file you are looking but extented to the end of 2012. Cecile
