Dear AMWG Participants,
The next working group meeting of the Community Atmospheric Model has been scheduled from
Monday, January 29 to Wednesday, January 31.
It will be held at NCAR for two and a half days. The meeting will focus on two themes:
understanding of current model biases and
milestone configurations for the next version of CCSM.
A rough agenda is copied below.
We invite all AMWG members to contribute to the meeting.
If you plan to attend, please send an email to Christina Book
(cbook@ucar.edu)
to indicate:
(1) you plan to attend the meeting, and if so
(2) whether you plan to make a presentation (with title).
Please respond before January 10, 2007.
Please note that we have many things on the agenda, for a relatively
short meeting. If needed, we will use a poster session.
We are looking forward to seeing you at the meeting!
Minghua, Leo, and Phil
Monday, January 29
------------------
Session 1: Update and progress of CAM development research
Session 2: Understanding of systematic model biases in CAM3
a. Comparison of CAM and multi-model simulations
b. Circulation features in the tropics
c. Polar clouds
Tuesday, January 30
-------------------
Session 3: Evaluation of CAM3 using new methods and datasets
a. Short-term forecasting simulations
b. New datasets
Session 4: Science presentations by community participants
