asking about the PFT of CAM3

I want to check the surface type of CAM3. But I found that the lsmpft equels 4 in the surface data : clms_64x128_USGS_c030605.nc. What does the lsmpft mean? Has CAM3 4 kinds of surface types? Everyone's response is appreciated. Thanks.
