Average atmospheric data from CAM fieds over the ocean

I would like to average surface atmospheric variables (TS, PRECT, etc.) only over the ocean. I am unable to locate a land-sea mask in the cam h2 (6-hrly) history files. I can regrid the surface atmospheric variables to the ocean grid and then use the land-sea mask in the ocean history files to average only over the land or ocean. Is there an alternate way to do this? Thanks.

This got sorted out by using a output file from the land model which has a mask for land/sea. I can then use the same mask as the land and atmospheric models use the same grid.
