Thanks for the reply. I installed CESM version 1.0.4.with CLM 4.0. Here, CASAmod indeed contains many important parameter definitions and biogeochemical calculations as for example:
·definition of the CNpools with the specific C/N ratios
·turnover times of the CNpools
·initialization of pool sizes
·the subroutine casa_allocate to provide dynamic or fixed carbon allocation.
·the subroutine casa_bgfluxes to compute biogeochemical fluxes.
- the subroutine casa_litterfall to compute dynamic litter fall
So when the entire module has been removed, I would assume that these calculations were somehow moved to other scripts or substituted completely in another script (containing "CN" instead of "CASA"). Do you mean with “CN and CASA are mutually exclusive” that the CASAmod is actually not used when running CLM 4.0 with CN? Could you please tell me the name of the script where the biogeochemical fluxes etc. mentioned above are then calculated in “CN” / CESM 1.1.1.?
