calculate MOC in POP

Dear all,

I have a question about calculating MOC in pop. In the following line integrating meridional velocity, why do we need to multiplying by 0.5 ?
If we want to calculate meridional heat or freshwater transport also by integrating VVEL, do we need to multiply by 0.5 too?

WORK1(:,:,iblock) = p5 * V_E(:,:,k,iblock) * DXU(:,:,iblock)

Thanks very much

Hello,

I am moving this question to the POP forum, as they will be the most likely group to have the answer to your question.

Have a great day!
