Any suggestions what might cause this problem and where to start debugging? Thanks!

I also encountered similar problems when I add a new atm component, please tell me how to solve?

Sorry for not seeing this sooner. This is likely because you are getting excessive winds. Try writing out every timestep coupler history to see where the problem is originating. You might be able to increase ATM_NCPL/ICE_NCPL to alleviate the problem.Dave
