CAM on ethernet based cluster

I have read that the main CCSM distribution will not
run on ethernet-connected networks, and that source
code changes must be incorporated to get it to work.

Does a similar issue exist for stand-alone CAM?
Or is CAM expected to work over either myranet or
ethernet "as is"?
