cam run of greater than 10,000 years - history files

Hello,

I am about to begin a CAM run of length ~23K years.

I am concerned that the history file naming convention may need to be
modified. Is that true? Can you suggest where to begin looking to make
changes?

Also, if you can anticipate other problems we might encounter, please relay this information.

Thanks.

Hi Bob,

My advice would to carry out a run (run01) out to year 9999 then "branch" it to another run name (run01a) starting at year 0001 then branch it again so that you never go over the year 10000. This would essentially do the run you are asking for and be bit-for-bit with a single run out to 23000 years without all the tinkering you are contemplating!
