Can CAM restart from *.r.* files output by CAM-SOM

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am trying to conduct a branch run from coupled CAM-SOM to CAM only run forced with climatological SST. But there was a i/o error during reading the restart files. May I ask if this cannot be conducted with CAM 3.1?
