Can CESM2 do deep time climate simulation?

Hi,I am learning CESM2, I would like to ask if it can do deep time climate simulation? Because the deep time climate simulation I saw uses CESM1, and the guide is also led by CESM1. Is CESM2 OK?

Hi, I am also new to CESM and have the same confusion. Do you know if CESM2 can run paleo simulations or do we have to stick on CESM1? Thank you in advance!

Hello,Skyler!
Only CESM 1.2 is currently supported for deep-time paleoclimate simulations. For Quaternary or modern climate simulations, CESM2 can be used.

Please see here for an updated Version Navigator

CESM2 runs away at 4xCO2 under the early Eocene condition. See this paper.

We don't recommend using CESM2 in coupled mode for deep-time high CO2 climates.
