Case.build falied for BSSP370smbb no LU case and showed the following error. I have set up everything necessary. I was wondering the reason to fail case.build.

I created your case using /glade/u/home/maruf/my_cesm_sandbox_v2 and built your case successfully.
If you want to look at my case directory, it is here:

/glade/work/oleson/cesm2.1.4-exp02_runs/BSSP370smbb_nonLU

You could try cleaning your build completely (./case.build --clean-all) and rebuilding.

Thank you @oleson for your reply. I have successfully run case.build now. In env.run.xml these are the difference between your and my file:
<entry id="RUN_REFDIR" value="/glade/scratch/maruf/BHISTsmbb1011.001_r3_nonLU_corrected/run">
<entry id="GET_REFCASE" value="TRUE">

But after submitting the case it fails, even it does not produce any log files. Actually the run did not start may be.

Is this still your case: BSSP370smbb_nonLU

If so, I see this in your CaseStatus:

2022-06-22 23:52:28: case.run error
Cannot call rmtree on a symbolic link

I'm not exactly sure what this means, but I had noticed that your pointer files were symbolic links to another directory, so maybe it is related to that.
You could try copying over the necessary files from your REFCASE manually, instead of setting GET_REFCASE to TRUE.
I did this and ran the model for a brief time.
