CESM 1.2.1 - Build on Linux/Ubuntu

Hello - I am volunteering with a high school student who desires to work with CESM 1.2.1 and ExoCAM.

I am assisting her in building CESM 1.2.1 and we noticed several missing links when performing the SVN checkout of the CESM source.

Exact steps to reproduce:
1) svn list https://svn-ccsm-models.cgd.ucar.edu/cesm1/release_tags
0d4c72bb87d8b1aa82f43f8ad0036e1f_969b89a0e013d43fc13c495f26b092d7_8/
Desktop.ini
cesm1_0_6/

2) The checkout works overall, however, there are several errors produced along the way:

It appears several of the external repositories are no longer active. Is there a patch available to make these libraries active again.
