On Tuesday 24 October 2023 @ 5pm MT the forums will be in read only mode in preparation for the downtime. On Wednesday 25 October 2023 @ 5am MT, this website will be down for maintenance and expected to return online later in the morning.

CESM2.0 Discontinued Support for ESMF Component Interfaces to Driver

Currently the CESM components have both an MCT and an ESMF interface to the driver set by the XML variable COMP_INTERFACE=[MCT, ESMF] in env_run.xml.CESM2.0 will discontinue support of the ESMF option in the component interfaces to the driver. New and improved ESMF/NUOPC capabilities will be brought in sometime after the CESM2 release.This decision was made after surveying the development community on their use of this option.
