Dear CESM participants,We are pleased to announce the release of CESM2.1.0 (http://www.cesm.ucar.edu/models/cesm2/).CESM2.1.0 is an incremental release of CESM2 that includes support for performing pre-industrial control and subsequent historical simulations as well as AMIP-type simulations with both the low-top (CAM6) and high-top (WACCM6) atmospheric model versions that can be used for the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project phase 6 (CMIP6) Diagnostic, Evaluation and Characterization of Klima (DECK) experiments. The release includes a limited set of output files from the corresponding CESM2 simulations. In addition, several bug corrections are included. A summary of these new features is provided athttp://www.cesm.ucar.edu/models/cesm2/whatsnew.html.The CESM project will continue to provide incremental releases to perform the remaining DECK and Model Intercomparison Project (MIP) simulations as they become ready.
