Dear CESM participants,We are pleased to announce the release of CESM2.1.0 (http://www.cesm.ucar.edu/models/cesm2/).CESM2.1.0 is an incremental release of CESM2 that includes support for performing pre-industrial control and subsequent historical simulations as well as AMIP-type simulations with both the low-top (CAM6) and high-top (WACCM6) atmospheric model versions that can be used for the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project phase 6 (CMIP6) Diagnostic, Evaluation and Characterization of Klima (DECK) experiments. The release includes a limited set of output files from the corresponding CESM2 simulations. In addition, several bug corrections are included. A summary of these new features is provided athttp://www.cesm.ucar.edu/models/cesm2/whatsnew.html.The CESM project will continue to provide incremental releases to perform the remaining DECK and Model Intercomparison Project (MIP) simulations as they become ready. The full set of output files from the CESM CMIP6 simulations will become available to the general community, starting in late February 2019. To download the model, please reference the Quick Start Guide athttps://escomp.github.io/cesm/release-cesm2. Regards,The CESM Project
