Dear CESM participants,We are pleased to announce the release of CESM2.1.1 (http://www.cesm.ucar.edu/models/cesm2/).CESM2.1.1 is the second incremental release of CESM2 that further expands the available set of out-of-the-box configurations of the model for readily performing all of the simulations requested by the Diagnostic, Evaluation and Characterization of Klima (DECK) experiments of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project phase 6 (CMIP6) as well as several Model Intercomparison Projects (MIPs) Tier 1 simulations. Examples of the additional available configurations include the 1% per year CO2 concentration increase and instantaneous quadrupling of the CO2 concentration DECK simulations both with the low-top (CAM6) and high-top with chemistry (WACCM6) versions of the atmospheric model. Functional support for both CAM6 and WACCM6 2-degree horizontal resolution versions is also provided. The CESM2 Scientifically Validated Configurations (https://csegweb.cgd.ucar.edu/exp2-public) web page contains the current list of supported experiment configurations, dataset and diagnostics plot links.  The CESM project will continue to provide incremental releases to perform the remaining MIP simulations as they become ready. The full set of output files from the CESM CMIP6 simulations are being made available to the general community via the Earth System Grid Federation (ESGF) as the simulations are completed. To download the model, please reference the Quick Start Guide athttps://escomp.github.io/cesm/release-cesm2/.Regards,The CESM Project
