CESM2 POP2 Hosing Experiment: Prescribing Time-Varying Freshwater Forcing

I am planning to conduct a hosing experiment in CESM2 where the freshwater forcing varies with time.

I have seen discussions on the forum regarding how to prescribe a constant freshwater forcing by modifying forcing_coupler.F90 (e.g., around line 794), which I understand works for fixed runoff values.

However, in my case, I would like to prescribe a time-dependent freshwater forcing (e.g., from an external runoff file that varies over time), and it seems that the above method does not support this functionality directly.

If anyone has experience with this or suggestions on how to implement time-varying freshwater forcing in CESM2 POP2, I would greatly appreciate your advice.

Thanks!
