Change STOP_N during running but does not work

Dear,

I am running a B1850 case 'start up' using CESM2.1.0. Before running, I set STOP_OPTION=nyears, STOP_N=5, and then started to run. When it is running, I changed STOP_N to 4 but now the model is still running after 4 years. I remember env_run.xml can be changed during the running, is it correct? Now my TIME_LIMIT does not allow me to run the total of 5 years. Are there some ways to stop running? I aim for 100 years running.

Technically you can change the STOP options while the model is actually running -- but the change will NOT take effect until after it's run the current cycle. It will take effect the next time the model restarts. To stop the model running midstream, you can kill the job with the normal batch commands to do that for your system. But, if you just want to run for a 100 years, you might as well wait until the current cycle is done.
