Dear CESM experts, Hello.I am going to perform the seasonal forecast using the CESM1.0.4 version.I want to get some comments about guestion to run the model from you.My experiment design is as follows. In my experiment, I used FC5, f05_f05(FV dycore), startup run. cam input : GFS data (I modifed the variables, PS,Q,T,US,VS) sst input: NOAA OI sst (persistent SST anomaly method)cice: NOAA OI ice concentration (prescribed method)spinup : I removed the result for one month from the beginning of the run. run time: 4 monthsrun period: every month 1) Firstly I want to make sure if I consider the variables associated with ICE in cam initial (i.e. SNOWHICE, TS1,TS2,TS3,TS4, TSICE). Because it is difficult to get the data associated ICE for free. If that's possible scientifically, I want to exclude the ICE in my experiment. Is it possible? So it is possible, should I switch off the variable related in namelist ? 2) I wonder how to initialize the clm. Whenever seasonal forecast is performed every month, Should I do the initialization of clm? If it is nessesary to initialize, I think that I need to clm initial data from Jan. to Dec. But as I know, CESM provide the initial data of clm only on January 1st. If I need clm input, I'll want to modify the data, "b_40_20th_1d_b08c5cn_139jp.clm2.r.1979-01-01-00000" and then ustilize it. Could you give detailed comments about this problem? Thanks in advance Miss Kim
