CLM5 B1850 Simulation: Issues with Initialization Data and Attribute Mismatches

I am using CESM version cesm1_2_1. I made some modifications in machine configuration files to run on our custom machine (sugon) with the intel compiler. No additional source code changes were made.

Describe every step you took leading up to the problem:​

  1. I set up a new case with the following command:
    bash
    Copy code
    ./create_newcase -compset B1850 -res T31_g37 --mach sugon --compiler intel -case /work/home/yinjiewang/newcase_T31_g37
  2. I configured the case and successfully downloaded most required input data files. However, the file rdirc_0.5x0.5_simyr2000_slpmxvl_c120717.nc required for RTM (rof) component was missing and had to be downloaded separately. I re-downloaded this file multiple times, but the error persisted.
  3. Upon running the case, I encountered errors related to missing attributes area and aream, as well as mismatches between attributes in SourceAV and TargetAV vectors.

If this is a port to a new machine:​

Yes, this is a port to a new machine. Relevant configuration files for sugon were added for machine-specific settings, and the compiler version used is intel. I can attach any relevant configuration files if requested.

To see others' experiences with this version of the model, you can search the Forums (see menu at the top).

You will likely find comments about this being an old version that is unsupported, so the most productive suggestion may be to proceed to a newer version of the CESM. If you must use this version, you may reach out to others in the community who continue to use this version with success.
