Dear alls,
I have such a problem at present about regional simulation, I used GSWP3 to simulate the NPP in China,
My compset is 2000_DATM%GSWP3v1_CLM50%BGC_SICE_SOCN_MOSART_SGLC_SWAV, DATM_MODE=CLM1PT
set up for spin-up with
./xmlchange CLM_ACCELERATED_SPINUP=on
./xmlchange CLM_FORCE_COLDSTART=on
The output file has the following information in cesm.log.
max rss=236.3 MB
Negative conc. in ch4tran. c,j,deficit (mol): 34297 2
1.806376198593366E-003
The next spin-up
./xmlchange CLM_ACCELERATED_SPINUP=off
./xmlchange CLM_FORCE_COLDSTART=off
also has some message in cesm.log
max rss=243.4 MB
Negative conc. in ch4tran. c,j,deficit (mol): 63314 1
1.274813550283766E-003
max rss=243.4 MB
In finial simulation my compset is HIST_DATM%GSWP3v1_CLM50%BGC_SICE_SOCN_MOSART_SGLC_SWAV, years from 2000-2015
in cesm.log* file has the following messages
max rss=236.2 MB
Warning: Jmx25 become unrealistic (>2000, or negative) for patch= 95002 z

Note: sink > source in ch4_tran, sources are changing quickly relative to diff
usion timestep, and/or diffusion is rapid.
Latdeg,Londeg= 31.7500000000000 108.750000000000
This typically occurs when there is a larger than normal diffusive flux.
If this occurs frequently, consider reducing land model (or methane model) tim
estep, or reducing the max. sink per timestep in the methane model.
Negative conc. in ch4tran. c,j,deficit (mol): 72760 1

This seems to be the problem with the methane model. Any Suggestions?
If I only focus on the simulation effect of carbon and nitrogen cycle in China, such as NPP, can I turn off the methane model?
Thanks all
