configure script

For CESM1.1.1, is there suppposed to have the configure script and also env_conf.xml file after creating a case. I am building CESM on my machine and there is no such confiure script and env_conf.xml files. My another question is how can we change the frequency of the history output files and their directory. Thanks!

Hi Lijun,
For CESM1.1.1, the configure script was renamed to cesm_setup.  env_conf.xml file is no longer created, you can find most of those settings in env_run.xml. To change the frequency of the history outputfiles you can edit the user_nl_* files that are created after running cesm_setup.  For user_nl_cam you can set nhtfrq=-24.  The different components have different variables to set.  You can find more information at http://www.cesm.ucar.edu/models/cesm1.1/cesm/doc/modelnl/modelnl.html.You can set RUNDIR in env_run.xml to write the history files to s different directory.
