contemporary SST/Ice boundary data?

The current CAM SST distribution ends in 2001.
(1) Is there any place one can obtain a data set going up to 2004?
if not:
(2) Is there any place to get a description of how the current data set was produced? I could probably make a passable SST but the sea ice I'm not so sure about.

Thanks for any insight/help/code.
