Does CAM account for the latent heat when sea-ice melt or refreeze?

I run CESM in F2000 mode, and use a climatology SST and sea ice.My question is :When the model marches from spring to summer, the boundary condition of sea ice is decreasing,Does the model account for this process and consume some of the heat in the system?Thank you.
