driver forcing data latitude/longitude grid type?

hi, i have a question about the input atmosphere forcing data for land surface, the driving data's lat/lon is Guass grid, if i have a set of data which islatitude/longitude grid, can it can run in CESM not convert them into Gauss grid？ thanks
