Eddy Diffusion (zisocl) error

Hello,

I am currently running CESM 1.04 in an E compset at 4x5 resolution with CAM5 (CAM5,CLM4,CICE4,SOM) with year 2000 initial conditions plus a doubling of CO2. The model seems to run fine for quite some time (I actually ran the model with the same configuration but with year 2000 CO2 for 50 years, then branched off for this run, which ran for another ~30 years). However, now this error appears:

zisocl: Error: Tried to extend CL to the model top

After looking at the source code, the error appears to come from CAM5's eddy scheme (diag_TKE -> eddy_diff.F90), and seems to directly kill the model (it uses the Fortran STOP command). Has anyone run into this error before? The model is being run on the University of Colorado's Janus system with 72 processors (6 nodes) being used. Any help or advice someone could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, and have a great day!

HiI'm running CESM 1.1.2 fully coupled in transient compset with NEMO as ocean module (instead of POP). Initial conditions have been created by ourself and work correctly in some cases while in others I got a similar error as Jesse Nusbaumer.Namely, after 59 timestep, that is something more than 1 day, I got:zisocl: Error: Tried to extend CL to the model topCould anyone provide a piece of advice or a comment on that? Many thanks Antonella Sanna

HI, I am using CESM1.2.0 and sucessfully ran the model for 1.6 years. then got the same error as given below.QNEG3 from chemistry/num_a2:m= 21 lat/lchnk=   1543 Min. mixing ratio violated at   15 points.  Reset to  1.0E-36 Worst =-9.3E-10 at i,k=  12  9

MPI_ABORT was invoked on rank 118 in communicator MPI_COMM_WORLD
with errorcode 1001.

NOTE: invoking MPI_ABORT causes Open MPI to kill all MPI processes.
You may or may not see output from other processes, depending on
exactly when Open MPI kills them.

I am also attaching the log here. Anyone get the cause why it is happening ?? Thanks.Regards,Ram

What configuration were you running? Give as much information as you can.ThanksRich

Hello Sir,I created the case for RCP85 using the user compset utility equivalant to  F_2000_CAM5. I used the component setting of F_2000_CAM5 (2000_CAM5_CLM40%SP_CICE%PRES_DOCN%DOM_RTM_SGLC_SWAV) just replaced the time period 2000 by RCP85. I created the SST and SIC boundary conditions using the coupled model output and the sst, sic boundary condition provided by NCAR(For present day  run) also followed all the adjustments suggested by Hurrell (2008).I can ran the model 2079-2094 sucessfully then i submitted for the remaining period (2095-99), it ran sucessfully upto 2096-06 and then throw the error mentioned above.Log File is attached.
