ENDRUN: called without a message string

Hi CESM developers,     I'm trying to run CESM 1.2 at T31 resolution with a slab ocean, cam5 physics, and prescribed (modal) aerosols (I'm just using "-phys cam5 -chem none"). I'm doing an abrupt CO2 quadrupling run (I'm starting with the E1850C5CN compset, then turning off "-bgc cn" for CLM_CONFIG_OPTS, but then specifying "-phys clm4_0", and setting the CO2 to 4 times the default value). My model crashes in June of the 9th year; the last five lines of the cesm.log file are: urban net longwave radiation balance error  -9.41979430519677
 clm model is stopping
ENDRUN: called without a message string
application called MPI_Abort(comm=0x84000006, 1) - process 21
APPLICATION TERMINATED WITH THE EXIT STRING: Hangup (signal 1)Am I right in thinking that clm model is crashing? Any thoughts as to why this might happen? Can I simply turn off these error messages without it affecting the calculations in further steps, or will this cause the entire model to become broken (does this energy imbalance feed back into the atmospheric model)? Is there any more information I can provide that would help get to the bottom of this? Thanks! Happy holidays.    Jonah
