Hi,I would like to perform present day slab ocean model (SOM) experiment by using EGCN  component set with f19_g16 resolution. The forcing file used for SOM isDOCN_SOM_FILENAME = pop_frc.gx1v6.100105.ncThere is an error whie building the cesm and the error is as follows:CESM BUILDEXE SCRIPT STARTING

Hi,Thank you for your prompt response. i have finished the experiment successfully.Current experiment (EGCN present day, f19_g16, phys cam5, chem trop_mam3) took 5.88 minutes approximately for one day simulation. Another experiment with E1850C5 (pre industrial, f19_g16, phys cam5, chem trop_mam3) took 3.78 minutes for one day simulaltion. Why these two experiments took different timings eventhough their chemistry and physics packages are mentioned same? Is it due to glc component in E1850C5 and CISM1 component in EGCN? And why in experiment with EGCN compset(pre industrial), glc component is not taking  tasks more than one? Would you please clear my doubts in this regard. Please find the cpl.log files of both the experiments.Thank you. With regards.

The compset you have chosen (EGCN) has an active ice sheet model, CISM. Is that what you intend? The only purpose of running with an active ice sheet model is if you are interested in the evolution if the Greenland ice sheet. If that is what you intend, then I believe the problem you are having is that you need to link to the lapack and blas libraries when you build CESM with CISM.

Sorry, I missed that Jim had already solved your build problem. It is very unlikely that CISM is the cause of the timing differences. This is a very cheap component, which only runs at the end of each year, and then only takes about 1 minute or less. It can only run on a single processor (it is not parallelized). It is hard to say why one case is slower than the other based on the information provided here. I recommend you look at the timing files produced by your run; see http://www.cesm.ucar.edu/models/cesm1.2/cesm/doc/usersguide/x1513.html for details.

Hi,Thank you for your reply. In the experiment with EGCN compset (present day, f19_g16) , I used following SOM forcing file which i downloaded from the link: https://svn-ccsm-inputdata.cgd.ucar.edu/trunk/inputdata/ocn/docn7/SOM/SOM forcing file = pop_frc.gx1v6.100105.ncwhether that SOM forcing file is correctly choosed for EGCN compset Or should i choose some other file.  Thank you
