Error of setting up SCAM case on Cheyenne through cesm1.2.2.1

Hi, 

I am trying to set up a SCAM case by creating a case on Cheyenne throught cesm1.2.2.1:./create_newcase -case /glade/u/home/swang54/scam_test/FSCM4A95_test -mach cheyenne -res T42_T42 -compset FSCM4A95
After I created a case, I typed ./cesm_setup but it gave me the following error messages: infile is /glade/u/home/swang54/scam_test/FSCM4A95_test/Buildconf/cplconf/cesm_namelist **  ERROR: SCAM mode assumes a serial build.**         Requested parallel modes are: spmd=ON  smp=OFFERROR: cam.buildnml.csh failed ERROR: /glade/u/home/swang54/scam_test/FSCM4A95_test/preview_namelists failed: 25344


I tried to search any similar issue occuring on Cheyenne but failed. Is there anyone can provide any solution for this issue?
