Dear all,

I got an unknown error when I submitted the jobs. Here is the detailed information in cesm.log.xxx.

Hi Fan, I'm going to move this to the WACCM board because you are having trouble with a WACCM input dataset. But first, I see the error:
time out of bounds for dataset =
/Users/mgao2/wangfan/cesm/inputdata_new/atm/waccm/lb/LBC_17500116-20150116_CMIP
6_0p5degLat_c180905.nc

Please check the model date and the dates available on the file above. This error means that the dates you are trying to run are not included in the data on the file here.

Thanks for your reply. It is true that the dates I was trying to run were not included in the data on the file. As a novice to CESM, I'm confused if I want to run the date from 2020 to 2030, which compsets should t choose.

For runs between years 2015 and 2100, you need to chose a future scenario compset. Future scenarios for CMIP6 ScenarioMIP are known as "shared socioeconomic pathways", or SSPs. These represent different futures ranging from aggressive emission reductions, including significant negative emissions (SSP1-2.6) to business as usual (SSP5-8.5).

WACCM SSP compsets begin with the letters BWSSP. See details in the slides from the CESM tutorial:

Hi Mills,

Thanks for your reply.

According to your guidance, I tried to choose a future scenario compset. I could not find future scenario compsets in CESM2.2, so I used CESM2.1.2. However, when I tried to build the model, I met the following problem although I could successfully build a model when using version 2.2. I also tried version 2.1.3 and got the same problem.

ERROR: BUILD FAIL: buildexe failed, cat /Users/mgao2/wangfan/cesm2.1.2/cime_out/ssp1_nve/bld/cesm.bldlog.220203-044543

Here are the first several lines in the log file.
