extract surface data for single point simulation

Hi dear all,
It is pretty troublesome to make the surface data for a single site(1*1 point); I am wondering can I
just extract the surface data from global surface data (such as the 0.125 deg) based on the location
of site? I mean can the extracted surface data be used directly for single point simulation?

Yes, this is a valid way to generate a 1x1 fsurdat file.
