General advice on single column model version of aquaplanet simulations

I would like to do aquaplanet simulations with fixed atmospheric energy transport and I need some general advice on how to do so. I think the steps to follow are :- Run a control aquaplanet simulation and output IOP datasets- Run a single column model per latitude with input from control run I have not been able to run a single column model yet, because of problems that, I think, are due to the cluster I am running them on.However, it seems that the single column model requires a latitude and longitude as entry, so is the best way to do this to cycle through all the lats and lons and do a single column model for each?Or is there a single column model flag that will let me run the model over the whole grid in single column mode, giving it the control simulation as input to get the appropriate T, q tendencies ? If anybody has done something similar and would like to share some code, I would be very grateful and acknowledge your contribution.
