General Circulation Models (GCM) for RCP 4.5 or 8.5

QUESTION: How to generate climate change scenarios on the basis of general circulation models (GCMs) under representative concentration pathways (RCPs 4.5 or 8.5)?

Any help is much appreciated please!

Hi Uzair, If the question is about accessing data from simulations under these pathways, we have the data available.

The CESM1 large ensemble was run under RCP8.5: Large Ensemble Community Project (LENS) | Community Earth System Model
The CESM1 medium ensemble was run under RCP4.5: CESM1 Medium Ensemble | Community Earth System Model

However, you may want to move to the more up-to-date simulations which use SSP's instead of RCP's.

The CESM2 large ensemble uses SSP3-7.0: CESM2 Large Ensemble Community Project (LENS2) | Community Earth System Model
The ensemble described at the following site uses SSP5-8.5: CESM2 SSP5-8.5 Ensemble | Community Earth System Model
The ensemble described at the following site uses SSP2-4.5: CESM2 SSP2-4.5 Ensemble | Community Earth System Model

You should find information on how to access the data for each of these ensembles on the websites.
