High resolution ne240 simulation does not run

Hi,

I would like to run a high resolution atm (ne240, 0.125°) simulation on our cluster. We are already successfully running CESM on many different resolution, but I was not able to get a ne240-simulation running. In case of ne240_g16, ne240_f02_t12, ne240_t12, ne240_ne240 and the compsets I have tested so far, not all inputs files are available under svn-ccsm-inputdata.cgd.ucar.edu. In case of F1850C5/ne240_f02_g16 all input files are there, the simulation starts but crashs around the first timestep. Furthermore, I have tested lower neXXX-grids: F1850C5/ne16_g37 and F1850C5/ne120_g16. Both run just fine.

Has somebody successfully performed a ne240-simulation with CESM 1.2.1? If yes, which compset, grid, and component task/thread settings?

Since F1850C5/ne16_g37 and F1850C5/ne120_g16 are running; I hope that F1850C5/ne240_g16 could possibly also run. But I don't see the following input files:

I guess https://svn-ccsm-inputdata.cgd.ucar.edu/trunk/inputdata/lnd/clm2/surfdata_map/surfdata_ne240np4_simyr1850_c120127.nc would be also ok. But map_0.1x0.1_nomask_to_ne240np4_nomask_aave_da_c120706.nc is still missing

Any help is very welcome.

Hi Urs:I just saw your post from two years ago. Have you successfully run CESM at ne240 (1/8 degree) resolution yet? I couldn't get it run either.By the way, I made my own map_0.1x01._nomask_to_ne240np4_nomask_aave and map_ne240np4_nomask_to_0.1x0.1_nomask_aave files by following the instruction in CESM User's Guide Chapter 6. That doesn't make the run successful.Thanks.
