How can I convert NCEP reanalysis data or ECMWF data into CCM3 initial data?

I'd like to use NCEP data or ECMWF data at specific date as initial conditions to run CCM3, but how can I do it? Could anybody give me some suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Alternatively, I'm currently using CAM3.0 in the Data Assimilation Research
Testbed to create T85 analyses using a subset of the observations NCEP uses
for its operational analyses. We're getting results which are competitive
with NCEP, and which are more balanced with respect to CAM than the
NCEP and ERA-40 sets can be, since we use CAM as the forecast model,
instead of interpolating to the CAM grid.

I'm currently generating daily analyses in CAM initial file format for 00Z and 12Z for January 2003. I plan to do the same for a summer month next,
but have some flexibility. Please e-mail me if you're interested in using
this data set.
