I want to save the calculation time of the model, so I want to choose Slab Ocean as the ocean mode. How should I set it in the configuration? Looking forward to your reply!

In the long compset name you chose DOCN%SOM. There are standard compsets (E and D) that use the SOM. Moving this to data models.

Thank you. Do you mean to use the initial field of slab ocn directly in compset? Can I modify the implementation of some attributes in the env_run.xml file after using B1850compset?

When you create a case, you can use the long compset name. If you look in the README.case file for a B1850 compset you will see the long name. You would replace POP with DOCN%SOM for example. Or use the predefined E and D compsets.

Hi dbailey,
I am tring to use the slab ocean as well,
when I replace pop with DOCN%SOM it went run by
set_compset: no match for compset 2000_CAM4_CLM40%SP_CICE_DOCN%SOM_RTM_SGLC_SWAV
to see supported compsets issue

when I use the E(EGCN) it also went run below
svn: OPTIONS of 'https://svn-ccsm-inputdata.cgd.ucar.edu/trunk/inputdata': Could not resolve hostname `svn-ccsm-inputdata.cgd.ucar.edu': Host not found (https://svn-ccsm-inputdata.cgd.ucar.edu)

Is there any way to slove this? Also could you kindly tell me how to set the res in SOM?

Looking forward to your reply.

You can use the --run-unsupported extension. I wonder if the subversion server was down when you tried this. Then you do a SOM case, it really wants you to set DOCN_SOM_FILENAME. Try setting this to one of the files in inputdata. There should be more information in the FAQ at the top of this forum.
